3 Talking Points from Malaysia Masters 2-020
1. The Return of Lee Yong Dae
The Legendary Korean Ace, Lee Yong Dae partnered Kim Gi Jung, both already retired from the national team surprised everyone by claiming their first ever Men's double of BWF Super Tour 500.
Their superb defensive play power through World number 4, Kamura + Sonoda(Japan); World number 5, Fajar + Rian(Indonesia) and complete their gallant run in the final with an outstanding display to defeat World Number 3, The twin towers (Li + Liu) from China.
2.Young and Furious
Lee Zii Jia (Malaysia) gave the home crowds something to cheer when he defeat 2 seeded players -- Andres Antonesen (Denmark) and Shi Yu Qi (China) enroute to his semi finals appearance; however the World Number 1 Kento Momota prove too strong for Lee as he tamed the local hopefuls in 2 straight sets at the semi finals.
3. Indonesia Men's Double pair were missing in the final
This is a rare occasion that none of the Indonesian Men's Double pair managed to advance into the final of any Super Tour Tournament. The reigning world champion came closed but were stopped by the Chinese' Twin Towers in a thrilling semi final encounter. While another Indonesian pair, Fajar + Rian can't break the resilience from the Korean veterans Lee Yong Dae + Kim Gi Jung in the same stage too.
