3 Talking Points from YONEX-SUNRISE HONG KONG OPEN 2019

1. A FairyTale Ending for Local Hero!

Lee Cheuk Yiu, the 23 years old Hong Kong lad produce a stunning display by becoming the first ever player from Qualifier to win Men's Single title!

Even though the winning point in final are controversial, but he's ability to pull great victory over Shi Yu Qi and Victor Axelsen on route to his maiden Super750 Title are no mean feat!

2. A Denied Victory

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting were left stranded when the umpire calls his shots 'fault' at the match point in deciding game during the Men's Single final match.

Nevertheless, he and Lee Cheuk Yiu both displaying great sportsmanship despite the bad call.

3. Men's Double Title goes to Korea after a long period

Could this be the beginning of Korean Men's Double resurgent after Lee Yong Dae retirement from National team?

The unseeded pair of CHOI Solgyu + SEO Seung Jae produce one of the biggest upset of this tournament by defeating the world champion Mohammad AHSAN + Hendra SETIAWAN of Indonesia! The same korean youngsters pair also denied the World number 1 pair of Marcus Fernaldi GIDEON + Kevin Sanjaya SUKAMULJO from winning their first world champion in August 2019.
